LATE SPRING IN THE GARDEN - PERENNIALS

  • Remove and dead head herbaceous plants regularly.

  • Continue to prick out and perennials and annual seedlings.

  • Pot up any plants that have been raised from seed in to bigger pot or plant in their growing position

  • Continue to stake perennials before they get too large and top heavy.

  • Harden off and plant out tender annuals and bedding plants.

  • Plant up hanging baskets and leave outside to harden off. Put slow release fertiliser in to the basket, water when the compost is dry and with diluted tomato feed weekly.

  • Tidy up any alpines that have finished flowering by removing dead heads and long trailing stems.
